ADIA Lab Welcomes Turing Award Winner Shafi Goldwasser to its Advisory Board
ADIA Lab, the Abu-Dhabi-based institute dedicated to basic and applied research in data and computational sciences, has announced that Professor Shafi Goldwasser, Director of the Simons Institute for the Theory of Computing and the C. Lester Hogan Professor in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at UC Berkeley, has joined its Advisory Board.
A Turing Award winner in 2012 for “revolutionizing the science of cryptography”, Professor Goldwasser has made significant contributions to cryptography, number theory, and complexity theory, as well as their applications to privacy and security. She is also the RSA Professor of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at MIT, and a professor of computer science and applied mathematics at the Weizmann Institute of Science in Israel. Professor Goldwasser is a member of the U.S. National Academy of Sciences, and a twice-winner of the Gödel Award (1993, 2001).
ADIA Lab focuses on Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and High-Performance and Quantum Computing, across all major fields of study.
ADIA Lab’s Advisory Board includes global thought-leaders from various data and computationally-intensive disciplines, and oversees the development and implementation of the Lab’s research agenda and programmes
